2005 Gambling Act - Big Changes For Bingo

September the 1st saw the introduction in the UK of the 2005 Gaming Act. Part of the act has made it easier for online Bingo sites to promote their games in the media and on TV. Expect to see a lot of adverts for online Bingo sites the coming months.

It's also brought a ban on certain sites advertising to a UK audience. Basically, any site which isn't licensed inside the European Economic Area is no longer able to advertise on UK websites, TV, etc. It's worth checking at any sites you play at to see where they're licensed. If it's outside the stringent licensing requirements set down by the UK's Government, it may be worth giving them a wide berth. The Isle of Man and Alderney are also included in the area that's white listed for UK advertising.
